John Silliman Dodge has a 30-year career that spans and integrates music, media, marketing, and management. He’s a graduate of Ohio University’s School of Telecommunications. He’s been a Julliard School of Music student, a recording artist for both ATCO and (currently) Path of Stone Records, and a Creative Director/Production Manager for KISS-FM in San Antonio as well as WROR and WBOS-FM in Boston. As Program Director, John pioneered the contemporary school of classical programming for WCRB-FM in Boston in the early 90’s. He was both Program and Music Director for KidStar Interactive Media, the Seattle-based, award winning national children’s multimedia network that blazed the trail for Radio Disney. From 2005 through 2009, as Program Director of KBPS-FM (now KQAC-FM) in Portland, Oregon, John took the radio station from average format performance (2.0 share 12+) to exceptional performance (3.5 share) while increasing on-air fundraising results by more than 100%. In addition, he wrote and directed the short film starring Chinese superstar pianist, Lang Lang which won the Best Promotion of the Year award for 2009 from the Association of Music Personnel in Public Radio (AMPPR). Today John actively consults the broadcasting industry in high performance announcer training, programming content and promotion, Web maximization, database and e-mail strategies, marketing, and talent management for senior executives through his “Managing Creativity” programs. He regularly tours the country conducting interactive workshops for radio stations, universities and businesses on the science and the craft of creative communication.
